Carter Mountain Wine Shop

The Prince Michel Wine Shop and Tasting Room on top of Carter Mountain is the perfect spot to share great wine with friends and family. Located on the 1,150 foot peak of Carter Mountain, our wine shop boasts the best views and highest elevation of any wine shop in Virginia

We all know that Carter Mountain is synonymous with Monticello and pick your own peaches and apples, but Prince Michel has been using Crown Orchard grapes to create their award-winning wines for years.  The opportunity to open a remote tasting room at the very site of the vineyards is now a successful reality.

Aside from wine tastings and sales, guests can enjoy expansive picnicking grounds and regular musical events.  Our “Sunsets on Carter Mountain” music series has become a popular Charlottesville “thing-to-do” as are the Peach and Apple Festivals with hayrides through the vineyards and orchards.  The PMV Wine Shop on Carter Mt the perfect place to toast the seasons beginning with the promises of spring all the way through the plenty of harvest.

Stop by for wine tastings and specials!
